Impulses Dance Theatre Arts, Inc.

Impulses Dance Theatre Arts, a 501 (c) (3) not for profit presenting organization and the performance group, Impulses Company, was founded by Margaret Beals, the Artistic Director in 1975. The organization presented Ms. Beals as a solo dancer and full evening programs of her choreographed works. It is also a vehicle through which accomplished artists from different disciplines – musicians, dancers, performers, painters and vocalists – come together to improvise and to perform for audiences at The Loft Theatre in New York.

 

Artists who performed frequently as members of the Impulses Company include Collin Walcott (sitar player and former member of Oregon), Janaki (singer), Badal Roy (tablas), Gwendolyn Watson (cello), Vishnu Wood (bass), Andy Kay (Zen paintbrush painter), Stan Strickland (winds), and Judith Pearce (flute).
